You know how it is––you start talking about buying a new car, and suddenly, every ad you see is for something close to what you’ve been looking for. If you’ve been shopping for a Cadillac XT4 for sale near The Bronx, you’ve probably seen a pop-up ad or two for the 2024 Lincoln Corsair. As a driver who wants the most value, the most luxury, and the most peace of mind for their money, you’ve got to wonder which is better overall: the 2024 Cadillac XT4 or the 2024 Lincoln Corsair?
First of all, we’ve got to say that the 2024 Lincoln Corsair is a great little car, and we’re sure the folks who drive it are perfectly happy with their investment. However, driving a Cadillac is a symbol here in America. In this case, it’s not just our opinion, though––the Cadillac XT4 rolls out of this apples-to-apples comparison as the more well-rounded vehicle. Let's take a look at what factors we considered when deciding why we would rather drive off in the XT4.
The Basics: Introducing the 2024 Cadillac XT4 and the 2024 Lincoln Corsair
On paper, there are a lot of similarities between the 2024 Cadillac XT4 and the 2024 Lincoln Corsair. Both are compact SUVs from America's two most prestigious luxury brands, offering similar performance and features. That being said, the XT4 comes out on top in a few places that matter to drivers. For instance, it boasts a best-in-class 39.5 inches of rear legroom compared to the Corsair’s 38.6 inches of rear legroom, which can become important if you often have backseat passengers.
Both are powered by a 2.0L inline-four engine, as well. The Corsair offers a bit more power, with 250 hp and 275 lb-ft of torque. However, the Corsair can’t tow as much as the XT4 and has lower fuel economy than the XT4. Under the hood of the XT4, Cadillac’s 2.0L inline-four engine is good for 235 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. This translates into a max towing capacity of 3,500 pounds compared to the Corsair’s 3,000-pound maximum.
Both models are offered in front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive, but the 2024 Cadillac XT4 has an EPA-estimated fuel economy of 26 MPG combined for front-wheel drive models and 25 MPG combined for all-wheel drive models. In the 2024 Corsair, those numbers drop to 25 MPG combined and 24 MPG combined, respectively. Sure, a single mile per gallon doesn’t seem like much, but a mile on Hutchinson River Parkway is an entirely different kind of measurement.

The 2024 Cadillac XT4 vs 2024 Lincoln Corsair: Which Is More Luxurious?
Both the Cadillac XT4 and Lincoln Corsair come in a variety of trims that range from “luxurious” to “top shelf.” The Cadillac is offered in Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Sport trims. Having “Luxury” in the name isn’t just bragging––it’s earned. Even the base trim fully lives up to the luxury label.
First, there’s the ride. As a Cadillac, the XT4 has standard Active Noise Cancellation, available Active Sport Suspension, and a Driver Mode Selector to help you get the best ride possible, whether you’re dodging potholes in the Bronx or cruising out to the beach to escape the city for the afternoon. Front-wheel drive models include three selectable Driver Modes, including Tour, Sport, and Snow/Ice. All-wheel drive models have Tour and Sport, along with AWD and Off-Road modes.
The Lincoln Corsair includes Active Noise Control as well, along with laminate privacy glass to keep exterior noise out. It also has four standard driving modes, which are known by the somewhat baffling names of Normal, Excite, Conserve, and Slippery. Equally confusing are the trim levels. The 2024 Corsair is offered in three trims; however, the Premiere and Reserve are gasoline-powered, while the top Grand Touring trim is a plug-in hybrid. To avoid confusion, we’ll stick to the Premier and Reserve trims for this comparison since it’s difficult to compare a traditional gas-powered vehicle to a hybrid.
Base Trim vs Base Trim: The Luxury vs the Premiere
It’s hard to say “base trim” when talking about these two SUVs because they are anything but basic. Instead, these are the trims that set the standard for the rest of the lineup.
The Cadillac XT4 Luxury trim has everything smart drivers need, want, and crave when navigating the busy streets of the Bronx. Not only is the XT4 smaller and easier to park when you just want to pick up your takeout and dash, but it also comes with standard peace of mind. The Cadillac Smart System suite of driver assistance technology is one of the most comprehensive in today’s market, including things other brands leave out, like Blind Zone Steering Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Braking, and a Second Row Seat Belt Indicator in addition to alerts at the front, rear, and side of the vehicle.
The Corsair’s Premiere trim is equipped with Lincoln Co-Pilot360 2.1, which offers a similar suite of features. To Lincoln’s credit, the Co-Pilot360 2.1 suite includes Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go, Lane Centering Assist, Speed Sign Recognition, and Predictive Speed Assist. This feature, along with Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking, Intersection Assist, and Side Bicyclist Alert, is part of the standard driver assist tools offered for the Corsair.
Standard across the Cadillac XT4 lineup is a 33-inch immersive touchscreen display that turns the driver’s seat into a control center. With 9K resolution, this touchscreen offers a variety of opportunities for personalization, including display themes and customizable features. From this screen, XT4 drivers have access to features like Google built-in and Amazon Alexa compatibility and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. A seven-speaker sound system built exclusively for XT4 is standard, but all models can upgrade to the metal mesh 14-speaker AKG Studio premium audio system.
The 2024 Lincoln Corsair Premiere is also well-equipped but to another standard. The infotainment, navigation, and vehicle operations are accessed via a 13.2-inch touchscreen with swipe capability. A 12.3-inch driver display provides vehicle information. The standard audio system is a nine-speaker system by Lincoln Premium Audio, but a Revel audio system is optional across the trims. Drivers will have access to the Lincoln-specific Lincoln Way App, which gives you remote access to your vehicle through your phone, similar to the myCadillac App.

More Is More in the Cadillac XT4
These are just some of the basic ways in which we find the 2024 Cadillac XT4 to represent better value than the Lincoln Corsair. Compare the standard features and the prices, and you might be surprised to see a clear winner stand out. Furthermore, the Cadillac XT4 offers things the Corsair cannot.
The XT4 Sport trim offers top-notch exterior and interior design, with real wood, carbon fiber, leather, and brushed metal accents, along with an available Active Sport Suspension that makes a trip alongside the Hudson River actually kind of fun. There are plenty of choices in the Bronx when it comes to small SUVs. However, we have to stick with tradition and choose the 2024 Cadillac XT4. On the cutting edge of everything, it leaves no driver disappointed. Contact us today to learn more!
