Now that the 2024 model year is upon us, it is clearer than ever that electrified vehicles are truly the future of the automotive industry. Thankfully, automobile manufacturers like Cadillac have given drivers quite a bit to look forward to. When you visit Cadillac of Manhattan, your Cadillac dealer near Jersey City, in the coming months and years, you’ll notice a growing number of electrified models on our lot.
Throughout 2023, Cadillac announced several new all-electric models that will become available over the coming years. However, the power source isn’t the only thing that’s innovative about these upcoming Cadillac EVs. In each case, the auto manufacturer known for luxury touches, impeccable ride quality, and a little extra comfort in every possible corner has exceeded expectations in creating an electric vehicle worthy of the Cadillac name. Though more announcements and details about the upcoming models will likely be forthcoming, here’s what we know about Cadillac’s upcoming electric vehicles.
On the Market Now: The Cadillac Lyriq
Jersey City drivers who are ready to invest in an all-electric Cadillac today can slide behind the wheel of the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq, an attractive SUV with much to offer. The Lyriq is the first model based on the Ultium battery platform, which underpins all future Cadillac EVs. It is a trusted and powerful piece of technology that has earned the respect of drivers and experts around the world. Featuring an almost perfect 50/50 weight distribution, the Lyriq is powered by a battery with a capacity of 102 kWh.
What that means for drivers is that rear-wheel drive models have an estimated 314-mile range, while all-wheel drive models have an estimated 307-mile range. Furthermore, charging can be quick and efficient with the Lyriq’s fast charge options. The Lyriq’s premium suspension creates a driving feel that is equal parts cushioned and responsive. The Driver Mode Selector allows you to select from Tour, Sport, Snow/Ice, and a customizable “My Mode” that changes the suspension, steering, acceleration, and torque to match the weather and driving conditions.
Inside the cabin, drivers are greeted by a 33-inch advanced LED display that is intuitively incorporated into the dashboard of the Lyriq. This seamless display includes the controls to the optional Cadillac-exclusive AKG Studio 19-speaker audio system with Adaptive Volume, Surround Technology, and the ability to take your favorite tunes to the next level.
A 26-color LED ambient lighting option allows drivers to create a cabin that sets the mood, whether gearing up for a busy day or driving sleepy kids home from a late practice. With rear seats folded, the Lyriq offers a huge 60.8 cu.ft. of cargo space. Even with all seats occupied, the 28 cu.ft. cargo bay makes it easier than ever to get everything and everyone from Point A to Point B in style.
Coming Soon to Jersey City: The Electric Escalade
For those who are willing to wait for more electric Cadillac options, late 2024 will see the arrival of what will likely be two new icons: the Escalade IQ and the Celestiq. When the Cadillac Escalade arrived for the first time in 1999, it was clear that it was something special. Not only was the Escalade an aggressive, intimidating SUV straight off the lot, but it wasn’t long before drivers figured out how to customize them into absolutely perfect rides.
The 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ is a seven-passenger, all-electric version of the now classic SUV, which means it combines style, top-shelf luxury, and a power source worth bragging about. Combining the Utium platform and Ultifi software, the Escalade IQ is not only efficient and environmentally friendly but also really smart and really, really cool.
Features like Magnetic Ride Control 4.0, independent front and rear Adaptive Air Ride Suspension, and Four-Wheel Steer allow for the most comfortable, responsive, maneuverable production Escalade yet. Paired with 24-inch wheels and 35-inch tires, the eAWD system incorporates individual front and rear drive motors that power each end for full control.
There’s also the fact that the Escalade IQ is projected to cruise along with a potent 750 hp and 785 lb-ft of torque. Offered with features like a 55-inch pillar-to-pillar digital control system, a fixed glass panoramic roof, and a 40-speaker audio system, it’s hard to imagine the Escalade IQ as being anything but a future icon.
Exactly the EV You’ve Been Looking For: The Celestiq
The hyper-luxury Celestiq is also slated for legendary status but for a totally different reason. Capable of an estimated 600 hp and 640 lb-ft of torque, the Celestiq is expected to have a range of 300 miles. Adaptive Air Suspension, Active Rear Steering, and Magnetic Ride Control 4.0 are all part of the Cadillac Celestiq’s specs, along with advanced two-motor all-wheel drive.
Drivers can also plan to take advantage of choreographed exterior lighting with over 1,600 individual LED lights in a series of light banks surrounding the vehicle. The Celestiq has no exterior door handles; instead, it extends drivers and passengers a warm welcome with power opening and closing doors. Front and Rear Command Centers, operated by touchscreens on the front and rear consoles, combined with 12.6-inch seatback displays, help rear-seat passengers enjoy a comfortable ride.
But everything else about the Celestiq is at the driver’s discretion. That is to say, Cadillac designers will help guide buyers through the process of designing their exact dream vehicle with fully personalized touches. Even More Electric Models Are Coming
In the last months of 2023, Cadillac announced two additional electric vehicles planned for the coming years: the 2025 Optiq and the 2026 Vistiq. These are also SUV models and will complete Cadillac’s electric SUV lineup. However, Cadillac has yet to announce electric equivalents to its CT4 and CT5 sedans.
The Optiq is a five-passenger, all-electric SUV that fits into the Cadillac EV lineup right below the Lyriq in terms of size. This would make it equivalent to the gas-powered XT4 in the current Cadillac lineup. While the full details have not yet been announced, it appears that the Optiq is at least equal to the Lyriq in terms of style and overall coolness.
The Vistiq will be the fifth electric vehicle in the Cadillac stable. With a size in between that of the Lyriq and the Escalade IQ, the Vistiq has been confirmed as a three-row SUV with a family-friendly approach to luxury. If you enjoy the three-row Cadillac XT6, then the Vistiq promises to take things to the next level with electric power and even more features.
The Lyriq, Escalade IQ, Celestiq, Optiq, and Vistiq promise to be very exciting additions to the luxury EV market, providing drivers with an ideal ride surrounded by comfort and convenience. With innovative features like wrap-around digital command centers and advanced audio systems, perhaps the Cadillac EV collection is the next step toward the flying cars that sci-fi movies promised us. With features like Super Cruise and bi-directional charging, perhaps it’s just a matter of time before the wheels rise from the pavement.
